The Vegan Tote Bag That Exceeded Expectations

This beautiful puffer tote had a very interesting start. When I first discovered this vegan tote bag, I was in love. A quilted puffer tote made of recycled nylon, I knew it had an amazing balance of style, function, and sustainability. I envisioned it aligning with our mission here at Green Vegan Bags and that the Latin GRAMMY® Gift Lounge would be the ideal debut for what I thought was a trendsetting vegan handbag. The bag was approved, and the Elevate Tote was officially one of the vegan purses that would be gifted to some of the most influential artists and industry professionals.

But then, something unexpected happened.

A Doubtful Start

When PETA initially received the tote bags, the person unpacking them questioned whether it belonged in a celebrity lineup and wasn't too sure about, what I thought, was a trendsetting handbag. It had already been pre-approved and was packed and ready to go and time was up to get anything else. So I was really anxious about all of these vegan tote bags that were being showcased and had to keep reminding myself that I know vegan style and know what I'm doing, but it was hard and I was anxious! 

Hit at the Latin GRAMMYs

When I showed up mid day to the gift lounge, the Elevate Tote Bag had flown off the rack. In fact, so much so that PETA had to hide this bag from the display because they were afraid that they were going to run out of it the first day. This bag was getting getting snatched up by celebs like Gloria Estefan and the band Os Garotin. 

PETA told me that they were wrong about the tote and it turned out to be one of the biggest successes. I laughed about it and told them that I was relieved because they had me worried.

The Tote That’s Everywhere

BUT before the vegan tote landed at the Latin GRAMMY® Gift Lounge, it was snapped up by my friend Karol (pictured above) who had to be the first to get it - she had been looking for a vegan handbag exactly like it for a while. This was another reason why I thought this bag would be a huge hit, Karol knows vegan bags. And she was right. Not only was it a hit at the gift lounge but so many vegans in South Florida have been snagging up these sustainable bags, myself included, and people stop to ask where we got them!
